Compatibility
Framework, target & inventory
- Frameworks. ESX, QBCore, and Qbox are auto-detected. Qbox is read through
qbx_corenatively. - Target and inventory. ox_target and ox_inventory are both required. They are hard dependencies of the resource, so it will not start without them.
There is no qb-target or qb-inventory mode. The full matrix is on the Dependencies & Compatibility page.
Standalone
With no framework core, the script still starts, but most of the job has nothing to stand on:
- No owners. Every car is unowned, so nothing can be claimed back. Impounded cars simply age out.
- No money. A fee above $0 cannot be paid.
- No staffed lots. Player Staffed and Auto Staffed lots need a framework job, so they cannot be created.
If you see no supported framework core was found in the console and did not mean to run standalone, your core is not started or errored at boot. To run standalone on purpose, set Config.Framework = 'standalone' and the warning stops.
Garages and vehicle keys
The script needs no garage resource. It writes the framework's own vehicle table directly, and releases cars by spawning them at the yard's handover bay. See Developers: framework vehicle records for the exact columns.
- ESX.
- An impounded car gets
stored = 1andpoundset to the lot's name, which is not the value esx_garage's own pound screen lists. The yard stays the only way out. - When a lot is deleted, owned cars with no saved garage are returned through esx_garage's garage list, or
Config.Compat.esxGarage.
- An impounded car gets
- QBCore and Qbox. An impounded car gets
state = 2, the impounded state qbx_garages uses. If your garage or police resource has its own depot or impound screen that releases state-2 vehicles, players get a second way out that skips the yard and its fee. Disable that screen or restrict it to staff. - Custom garage scripts that keep vehicles in their own tables, rather than
owned_vehiclesorplayer_vehicles, are not read. Cars they own would be treated as unowned. - Vehicle keys. The script does not give out keys. A released car is spawned unlocked with the engine off. If your server uses a vehicle keys resource that blocks starting an engine without keys, the owner will need keys from that resource.
- On QBCore and Qbox, the released car is spawned with its full look (paint, wheels, body kit, lights, extras). Performance mods are only applied by the spawn on ESX.
Other tow and impound scripts
- qb-towjob / qbx_towjob. Replaced. The script declares both names, so remove the originals. See Dependencies.
- Other impound systems, including a police job's own impound, an advanced-garage impound, or another tow job, also write vehicle state. Run one impound system, or the two will disagree about where a car is.
- Commands.
/impoundand/releaseare common names. Check that no other resource on your server registers them.
Police scripts and radial menus
- Any job can be allowed to call tows through
Config.PoliceJobsorConfig.TowTarget.jobs, for example a sheriff, parking enforcement, or a mechanic job that runs recoveries. - On ESX, which has no duty flag, officers can call a tow at any time. On QBCore and Qbox, the officer's police job must be on duty.
- A radial menu or MDT can open the request screen with
ExecuteCommand('requesttow'). The stock tow job's radial events are not implemented. See Developers.
Companion resource
vs-npc-dialogue runs the receptionist, both clerks, and the Public Job dispatcher, and must be kept updated in lockstep. See its docs.
Maps and the Los Santos Impound MLO
Yards are built in-game with the Creator, so the script does not require any map. A yard can stand on an open lot, a custom yard, or inside an interior. Peds and lockers placed inside an MLO are kept in the room they stand in. Gates and safes are picked from props the map already has, so a yard built in a map with real gates can open and shut them.
It pairs with the Los Santos Impound MLO as a home for a yard.
Running the WXMAPS Los Santos Impound MLO too? Ensure wxmaps_commons and the map before vs-impoundjob. See the map's installation page.
