Items & Images
The heist needs two items, and both are usable: ox_inventory calls one of the heist's exports when a player uses them. Item names are set in Config.Items in config/config.lua.
There is no crowbar or lockpick. Breaking into the car is a skill check, not a tool check.
Item reference
| Item | Usable | Role |
|---|---|---|
signalbox | ✅ export | The Signal Repeater. Bought from the supplier ($2,500 by default). Used within range of a yard gate to open the frequency tuner. The heist removes it after a successful lock; a failed or abandoned attempt costs nothing. |
microcamera_impound | ✅ export | The Microcamera. Handed to every crew member who does not already carry one when the contract is taken, and also on the supplier's list ($500). A tool: it is never used up. |
ox_inventory
Add these to ox_inventory/data/items.lua. The microcamera_impound entry is the one the config file itself gives; labels and weights are examples you can tune.
-- ox_inventory/data/items.lua
['signalbox'] = { label = 'Signal Repeater', weight = 500, stack = true, close = true,
consume = 0, client = { export = 'vs-impound-heist.signalbox' } },
['microcamera_impound'] = { label = 'Microcamera', weight = 100, stack = false,
close = true, consume = 0, client = { export = 'vs-impound-heist.camera' } },
Both items need consume = 0 and their client.export. The camera is a tool, so with consumption on the first photograph eats it. The signal box is removed by the heist itself, only after the frequency locks, so ox_inventory must not take one as well. Without the export, using either item does nothing.
The camera is deliberately its own item, not the Laundromat Heist's microcamera. An ox_inventory item carries one client export, so sharing the name would make one heist open the other's camera. Running both scripts, you register both items.
Usable-item exports
| Export | Item | What it does |
|---|---|---|
vs-impound-heist.camera | microcamera_impound | Raises the phone viewfinder to photograph the cars in the yard. Only works during preparation, before the right car has been photographed. |
vs-impound-heist.signalbox | signalbox | Opens the frequency tuner. Only works once the job is live, within range of one of the yard's gates. |
Renaming the items
Config.Items.signal and Config.Items.camera name the items. If you rename one, rename the ox_inventory entry to match and keep the export as it is (vs-impound-heist.signalbox and vs-impound-heist.camera). If you rename signalbox, also update the supplier's list, which sells it by name.
At boot the heist asks ox_inventory for every name in Config.Items and prints a warning for each one that does not exist:
[vs-impound-heist] The heist wants an item called "signalbox" and your inventory does not have one.
Add it, or change Config.Items -- until then the contract can never get past preparation.
Other items you may add
- The supplier's stock. Anything on his list (
Config.Shop.items, or the Creator's Supplier tab) must be an existing ox_inventory item. A row markedrequiredbecomes part of the preparation. See Configuration. - Safe loot.
Config.Payout.safeLootships empty. Each line you add is rolled on its own and given to whoever opens the safe, so every item named there must exist in ox_inventory.
Item images
Give each item an image in ox_inventory/web/images/, named after the item:
ox_inventory/web/images/signalbox.pngox_inventory/web/images/microcamera_impound.png
The supplier's shop uses the same images for its cards, so an item without one shows a blank card there as well as a blank box in the inventory.
Missing images are the most common "it looks broken" report: the items work but render as a blank box. Add one PNG per item name.
